A pre-New Year's Resolution

Losing weight is never an easy undertaking, especially when you happen to have quite a few very stubborn pounds to drop. I have quite a few to kick by the wayside. Yes, I've let myself go a bit. I haven't been able to get to the gym as often as I used to and I haven't been as careful about what goes into my mouth, so, hello fat!

Myself, Hubby and three friends have decided to hold a little weight loss contest amongst ourselves. The friendly competition will last six months Doesn't six months sound better than half a year? Same time frame, different perception. Funny how that works. I think it will be fun, and the support system is definitely a bonus. Besides, there has to be something that I'm better at than Ms. Calamity! If it's losing weight, then so be it!

I have so many motivations and reasons to lose the weight, a major one being I feel like crap and my nice clothes don't fit so nicely any more. Another huge reason is I need to be thin and fit if I'm going to have horses again. When I lost my Star I not only lost a companion, but I also lost a huge source of exercise. Riding, cleaning stalls, grooming and lugging water buckets around every day certainly burns some mega calories!

So, here I go, taking the first step in this somewhat daunting undertaking, and it's something I have no option but to succeed. Failure is not an option, not this time. I've done it before, I can most certainly do it again, and with so many people doing it along with me, success is so much more likely.

Hmmm - I am so with you on this. Six months is good. A friendly competition even better. While I am preggers, AGAIN, it happened when I was back at my heaviest, AGAIN.

So this year is one of eating sensibly - weight loss is not really in my head because how would I know/manage it while incubating. But I shall watch your journey, and maybe recommit to mine at allconsumingdiet. Maybe.

Otherwise, just wait for the latter half of the year, when really, game on.

Happy new year!
