Don't wanna know

Wow, it's been a little while since I posted, hasn't it? Quick update: I woke up, did chores, went to work, came home, made dinner and did laundry, kept peace amongst the children, helped with homework, did chores, did some gaming and went to bed.

Rinse. Repeat.

Oh, yes, my life is exciting!

Next week I get to go spend an entire day at the cardiac specialist. See, I've been having these chest pains. I went to the ER and they didn't find anything out of the ordinary. I wasn't having a heart attack, so that's a bonus. Now I get to go have radioactive material injected into my veins, run on a treadmill for awhile and then lay under a giant nuclear imaging machine to find out if there's any blockage going on in there. The test is run several times and takes about five hours. I just adore the idea of being filled with radioactive fluid. I wonder if I'll glow afterwards.

I'm having mixed feelings about the test. I want to know that everything is a-okay so I can quit agonizing over every twinge and chest pressure and being afraid to go to sleep at night. On the other hand, if I have heart problems and six months to live, I'd really rather not know.

My dad died from heart problems. His mom died from heart disease. His brother has had a triple-bypass. With that genetic code in me, the odds aren't in my favor that everything is a-okay.

So yeah, I'm scared. Scared of what that test will find.

I went through this in October, when I suffered a lot of lower-body pain, discomfort and bleeding during my road-trip vacation. I was mortally convinced I had colo-rectal cancer, as they're some history of it in my family.

Turns out I just had a first-ever case of internal hemmorhoids.

In your case, I wonder if maybe you're starting to develop acid reflux (I did in my thirties as my weight went up) ... or just having work-related anxiety attacks. Knowing what I know of your workload these days, that's got to be a strong possibility.

I too wish only the best for you. And your chest.

Just because there's a family history doesn't doom you! Don't kill yourself before you're dead! ;)
Thinking of you.

Jenn. I will be with you all the way, my thoughts and prays.
I can't believe they are making you wait so long before they do any real tests.
Please don't worry your self sick, it doesn't help a thing, can makes things worse. Take deep breaths and think positive.
Good Luck HUGS

I dare you to ask them when they'll be doing your mani/pedi as part of that 'spa' day.

Wishing you the best.

Fingers crossed for your trip to the heart doc's! And remember that even if there's any problem, once they know about it, they can do things to take care of it. It's amazing what they can do these days -- my dad and two of my hubby's uncles have had heart attacks in recent years, with the uncles' being major ones, yet they're all still with us!

Take care and keep us posted!
